The IA-RS232C-D is a dual port, solid-state interface adapter (serializer) that provides a simple and robust method of converting parallel data into serial data for transmission to multiple aircraft systems. This adapter is designed to convert parallel, 10-bit, ICAO pressure altitude data  from two altitude reporting digitizers to a fan-out consisting of two RS-232 compliant outputs.

The IARS232C interfaces support two baud rates: 1200 bps for use with navigation devices by UPS Aviation Technologies, and 9600 bps for use with navigation devices by Trimble and Garmin.
