Product Description

The TDR500/3 is a handheld single channel time domain reflectometer (TDR) for locating faults on metallic cables. It is compact, can be used on all metallic cable pairs, and has a minimum resolution of 0.1 m and a 5 km maximum range, depending on velocity factor selected and cable type.

The TDR500/3 is easy to use and has four output impedances available (25, 50, 75, and 100 Ω) and a velocity factor between 0.2 and 0.99 will meet any cable test requirements. It also has a trace hold feature and a velocity factor between 0.2 and 0.99, so you can meet any cable test requirements.

The TDR500/3 has a simple selection option which, together with a four-way control switch, offers your intuitive operation. The 'Auto selection' option ensures that the most effective parameters are selected depending on the range required, aiding rapid diagnosis of the TDR trace.

A clear operator-controlled cursor allows instant measurement of the distance to the fault and a trace 'Hold' feature also allows you to hold a trace on the screen, something not seen on most other handheld TDRs. Extra high resolution together with a white-light backlight and gray scale tones make the graphical display vibrant, helping you to identify key events on the trace.
