Description
The PIA01 is a Passenger Intercom Amplifier designed for use with the Digital Audio Communication System (DACS). It is a remote mounted unit used for connecting up to twelve passengers (six headset connections on the PIA, each supporting two headsets in parallel, if desired) to the DACS.
The PIA01 provides intercom audio for the passengers and communications with the Audio Management Unit (AMU) based users in the rest of the system, via the Digital ICS Tie Line. All intercom audio between the PIA01 and the AMU is digitized. The level of intercom audio heard by the PIA01 users is set to match the level of intercom audio heard by the passengers connected to the AMU so there is no apparent difference regardless of whether which passenger is connected to thePIA01. The PIA01 also has a standard analog NAT ICS Tie Line to allow it to be used with other NAT audio systems.
